Surfacing
Nacando Productions debut dance film Surfacing to premier at the Vue sur la relève festival April 16, 2008
We invite you to dive into Surfacing. This site-specific dance film created among the rushing rivers and vast meadows of Quebec’s Eastern townships draws inspiration from Margaret Atwood’s poem: This Is a Photograph of Me. The work explores our awareness and acceptance of human mortality.
As the first formal collaboration between filmmaker Desh Fernando and choreographer Teoma Naccarato, it melds several artistic disciplines into a work that challenges while remaining accessible to a wider audience. Filmed on HD video and boasting an original musical score by Tim Rideout, Surfacing will premier at the Vue sur la relève festival on April 16th 2008 at 8:00pm at the Maison de la Culture Frontenac.
