Teoma Naccarato

teoma-naccarato-head-shot1.jpgTeoma Naccarato is currently pursuing her MFA in Dance on full scholarship at Ohio State University. As a contemporary dancer and choreographer, Teoma is greatly inspired by community dance practices, site-specific work and integrating dance and technology. Teoma completed her BFA in Contemporary Dance at Concordia University in 2004, following which she spent 4 years as an independent dancer, dance teacher and choreographer in Montreal, Canada. In 2005 she founded her company Naccarato Dance for which she has created several pieces including Gust, Exit Logic, Upstream and Just Friends. Her work has been presented in various venues and festivals around Canada and at the Hemispheric Institute Encuentro in Buenos Aries, Argentina, June 2007. In September 2006, Teoma attended the internationally competitive Dance Omi Artist Residency in upstate New York. More recently, she co-founded a Dance for Camera Company called Nacando Productions with Desh Fernando. Teoma has performed nationally and internationally with Montreal choreographers Marianne Desjardins, Ilona Dougherty and Michael Montanaro.
